A Faster Platform, a Rebuilt Booking Engine, and More Ways to Grow Revenue This summer, OpenHotel...
Coming Next to OpenHotel
Faster, Clearer Workflows for Hotel Teams
The OpenHotel Summer 2026 Release is a major milestone, but it is only one part of a broader platform modernization already underway.
Following the Booking Engine rollout, OpenHotel will continue improving the PMS experience with new tools designed to help hotel teams manage reservations, guest information, communication, workstations, payments, distribution, and revenue controls more efficiently.
The goal is simple:
Make everyday hotel workflows faster, clearer, and easier to manage.
A More Modern Reservation Experience
Development is underway on redesigned booking and modification workflows that will make important reservation information easier for hotel teams to review and understand.
Planned improvements include:
- Redesigned room and rate results
- A clearer occupancy selector
- One calendar for check-in and check-out
- Improved rate and package selection
- Easier-to-read reservation totals
- A more streamlined modification experience
These changes are intended to help staff understand stay details faster, compare available choices more confidently, and reduce unnecessary steps when creating or updating reservations.
A New Guests Page
A new Guests page is also in development to help teams find the guest—not only the reservation.
Staff will be able to search individual guests and access information connected to:
- Past stays
- Current stays
- Future stays
- Guest history
- Related reservation activity
This will create a more direct way to understand the guest relationship across multiple visits and support faster, more informed service.
More Flexible Workstations
OpenHotel is working on more flexible workstation access that will allow multiple browsers to connect to the same configured computer and its available devices.
Depending on the property’s setup, this may include:
- Scanners
- Payment terminals
- Other connected equipment
This planned improvement is designed to give hotel teams more flexibility while maintaining access to the devices they rely on during daily operations.
Smarter Yield Management
Tag-based yield controls are also planned to help properties apply revenue strategies to meaningful groups of rooms without managing every room type individually.
Properties may be able to organize rooms using categories such as:
- Standard rooms
- Premium rooms
- Suites
- Views
- Buildings
- Floors
- Operational groups
- Property-specific classifications
This can make rate strategies easier to manage across larger or more complex inventories.
Additional Improvements in Development
OpenHotel’s continued modernization also includes work across several additional areas:
Refreshed Admin UI
A more modern and consistent OpenHotel PMS experience.
Redesigned Mailbox
An updated home for guest and operational messages.
Universal PMS Search
A faster way to find reservations, guests, messages, and other important information.
On-Demand Messaging
Tools for sending SMS or email messages to groups such as all in-house guests.
More Payment Processors
Additional choices for integrated hotel payment processing.
Booking Engine Themes
More options for customizing colors, layouts, features, and presentation.
Expanded Distribution
New GDS integrations and additional booking channels.
Why These Improvements Matter
Hotel teams often manage a large amount of information under significant time pressure.
Clearer and more connected workflows can help properties:
- Reduce manual steps
- Improve reservation accuracy
- Shorten staff training time
- Make room and rate choices easier to understand
- Access guest history more quickly
- Simplify revenue controls
- Reduce reliance on a small number of highly experienced users
These improvements are being developed to support real hotel operations without adding unnecessary complexity.
Modern Technology, Backed by Real Support
OpenHotel is continuing to modernize the platform while maintaining the responsive, knowledgeable support clients already know.
The Booking Engine release is the next major step. The improvements outlined here represent what comes after it as OpenHotel continues building a faster, clearer, and more connected experience for hotel teams.
OpenHotel’s messaging strategy emphasizes leading with practical outcomes (time saved, fewer errors, stronger control, and greater confidence) before introducing the underlying tools.
These features are currently in development and are not part of the August 2026 Booking Engine rollout. Availability, timing, and final functionality will be shared as development progresses.
